ENT Consultation and AssessmentENT assessment consists of: Examination of ears with otoscope or microscope, depending on the case. Examination of the nose and throat; using simple instruments for paediatric patients, and thorough endoscopic examination for adult cases using flexible nasendoscope (FNE). FNE gives a detailed view and inspection of both nasal cavities, postnasal space (nasopharynx), voice box and vocal cords, and the top part of opening of the food pipe (oesophagus). The endoscopic view can be shown to a patient on a screen. Neck examination looks to detect any lymph node enlargement or neck lumps of a different origin. | £200 |

ENT General TreatmentBiopsy procedures under local anaesthetic from ENT organs (if appropriate), punch biopsies from skin lesions on the head and neck area. Minor injury/trauma management – stitching of facial lacerations under local anaesthetic. Repair of split ear lobes (unilateral or bilateral). | £250 |
Ear Treatment and ProceduresOtomicroscopy and removal of ear wax (irrigation or suction), infective debris or foreign bodies – one side or both sides. Microbiology swab for infected ears (diagnostic procedure). Insertion of a pope wick or instilation of medicines in a form of ointment, to treat otitis externa type of infections. Drainage of traumatic or spontaneous pinna haematoma or seroma (emergency procedure). | £250 |
Nose Treatment and ProceduresNasal cautery with silver nitrate (70% cautery stick) to treat epistaxis (under local anaesthetic). Unilateral procedure. Can be repeated if needed after 4 weeks. MUA (manipulation under local anaesthetic) of fractured nasal bones of a fresh nasal injury (less than 3 weeks old). Removal of nasal foreign bodies. Microbiology swab (diagnostic procedure). Management of acute epistaxis, nasal packing (emergency procedure). | £250 |
Throat Treatment and ProceduresAspiration and drainage of paratonsilar abscess (quinsy) under local anaesthetic (emergency procedure). Throat swabs (diagnostic procedure). | £250 |
If the examination reveals any abnormality, the doctor may suggest further tests (blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound etc). There is an additional cost for these tests which can be found in Prices page.
